Latinize It -Recipe book

Latinize-It with Claudia’s Mesa is my slogan and direction. I am currently working on a proposal and query to send to agents requesting representation so that I can be acknowledged by a publishing company. It is almost like writing a business plan.

One of my assignments is to come up with the make believe write up that will be in back of my book cover, the one that will entice the reader to spend money to buy my book. I want to share it with you. I also want to ask you that if you, or someone you know is in the publishing world, or in the culinary business, that can assist me to develop an audience whether it be through cooking demos, articles in magazines or newspapers, send them my way. Proposed back cover of book.
"In her book, Latinize-It, Claudia Galofre Krevat, spices up the American diet by using ingredients and cooking methods common to Latin America and Europe. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, during a time when housewives shopped for food in the Old World fashion way, Krevat brings to the twenty first century kitchen the same cooking principles our grandmothers practiced without their elaborate preparation methods.

Krevat’s philosophy, slow food cooked fast, reflects today’s values among the slow food movement gurus, in a practical and flavorful way. Inspired by Michael Pollan’s premise that eating has become way too complicated because we are paying too much attention to calories, fats, antioxidants, gluten, etc., Krevat brings our attention back to the relationship we once had with whole foods.

From breakfast to lunch to dinner, feast on dishes like Empanadas Andinas dipped in blood orange chimichurri, Spinach and broccoli pesto pizzeta with queso fresco, coffee and cocoa rubbed pork tenderloin medallions topped with a guava glaze, and grilled white peaches dipped in bittersweet Dominican dark chocolate sprinkled with coconut flakes. Slow food cooked fast meals will take between 30-45 minutes from stove to table.

Krevat will teach you how to Latinize your pantry. Whether it be Italian, French, Spanish, or maybe Caribbean or Andean, you will have the tools to change your typical meals into something from out of this world!
